Dear Myra:

Boy what a breath of fresh air you are. We moved from NY to Maine for a simpler and more meaningful life. It is so hard to lose old habits. You have a wonderful life that is envied. I just lost my job and have a son that is 7 years old. My husband thankfully still has a job, (since we are tied down with this modern life). I am trying so hard to live in the moment and now realize that I should have been home with my son all along. Possessions mean nothing. This thought after I knew for many years something was wrong with the way we lived. I would love some direction on how to live more Wabi Sabi. Please consider sending me some info.

love this discussion…..wish i had it yrs. ago while raising my 3 children…workin my butt off to make ends meet…barely.
Presently relocated down south in western NC in the appalachian mts., live a much simplier life, doing what i love to do…….being in nature, creating, gardening etc. love the land….love the time…don’t have to be anywhere, being in the moment … where the soul lives…chopra said that

Your lifestyle seems very like ours! We have a 13-month old daughter and she really looks like she’s going the same path as yours.

We live in Hubbell in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Whereabouts in the upper Midwest do you live?
